Her body can create and discharge wattage that can disable at least four counties. She is able to emit voltage that can blast through electrical circuits and cause electrical malfunctions in the human brain and heart. Her ability is honed due to years of training ~~and subsequent abuse~~ from Company members; perfecting her into one of the Company's top agents.

Heavy dependency issues are evident in Ms. Bishop, likely stemming from a fractured relationship with her father. This may make her susceptible to infiltration by an agent posing as a confidant or father figure. Her socio-behavioral skills are underdeveloped, to say the least, as she was been raised in a captive and isolated environment from age nine. Concepts of personal space and a tendency towards expulsive behavior are hallmarks of this, both of which she exhibits profoundly. Elle also displays mild/moderate sociopathic tendencies; a trait that manifests itself in the joy she receives from delivering mild electric shocks to other captives within the Company. Note that animosity towards our operation may be a factor when dealing with Bishop as she was fired by new Chairwoman, Angela Petrelli, shortly after Bob Bishop's passing.

History

Elle Bishop was born to two proud parents in the spring of 1983, a girl that was spoiled rotten by her doting parents.. and still that never seemed to be enough. Elle grew up happily, "all unicorns and rainbows" until her abilities began to manifest. At a young age, Elle was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, but the diagnosis proved to be incorrect by the Company's own doctors. They said it was a phase and that the tiny blonde child would grow out of her little stage of 'delinquency.'

Elle was not a typical delinquent. At age six, on a trip to her grandmother's house on a chilly, November day, Elle had complained that her Grandmother kept the heat on too high. It was a constant battle of bickering between Elle's mother and herself, how Elle's grandmother kept things. The house was always too small and the dolls were always too old for her to enjoy. On this particular day, the small girl lost her little-girl temper.. and the circuits in Grandma Ruth's house started flickering. Little Elle had been right about having too old of a house. The frayed wires ended up catching on the dried wood paneling of the house and igniting the parlor into a fury of licking flames. The antique curtains went up in smoke and sent the house into a roaring frenzy of a fire.

Little Miss Bishop was told that it was an accident with the heating system. Grandma kept the air conditioning on until November after that. Mommy, Daddy and Grammy never talked about Grandpa ever again. He disappeared after the fire. What Elle wasn't told was that he had died of smoke inhalation.

Shortly after that.. the Bishops moved to Ohio for a fresh start. One that omitted accidental housefires.

At age eight, Elle and a few friends were having a sleepover. Now, Elle didn't really have very many friends, due to her occasionally abrasive personality, so this was a rare occurrence. It had been an arranged sleepover to force Elle to socialize, but it was a sleepover nonetheless. The two girls in the pink, Barbie sleeping bags had noticed the static that had happened upon nestling into the fleece and nylon covering.. and were taking delight in it. Elle buried herself into her own purple sleeping bag and laughed when the whole thing nearly lit up. She giggled and the girls giggled in return.. watching the blue sparks dance around their blonde friend's body. It was like a magic trick.

When she got too riled up.. all the lights in the house went out.

Along with the houses of everyone else in the four, surrounding counties.

Elle was nine years old when she'd moved to New York, placed under the care of several pediatric psychiatrists and geneticists. On her ninth birthday.. it took a few milliliters of Thorazine to get her to calm down about not having a birthday party. For the rest of the day, Elle was hooked up to a lithium IV in a glass room to prevent her from blacking out the entire state of New York. It was traumatic in the slightest. She couldn't even have a birthday cake, because the room was pumped with a steady flow of pure oxygen.. which would've ignited from those nine candles that she never got to see.

At twenty-four years old, Elle works at her father's side, under careful observation from the company. Since her diagnosis as a sociopath, she'd been told that she had paranoid delusions.. that people were out to get her for her ability. They didn't tell her that her fears would've been true if she'd been in the real world for the majority of her lifetime. She covers up these fears with arrogance, a promiscuous attitude and biting intent, determined to make those around her useful to her.. and if they're not? Well, she hasn't killed anyone yet, ~~that she knows of~~, but a young cryokinetic now thinks that he's a damnation and has been on suicide watch after a visit with her.

She is a nice person, really. Once you give her things and don't want to strangle her within seconds of meeting her. Or if she doesn't kill you first.
